Fending off coyotes I guess. But that's all my wolf's mate ever did. xD

I was actually playing the other day and my mate ran up to me when I had low health after attacking a bear. Unfortunately, I received no help in actually attacking the bear. But I thought it was nice. You know, animated wolves showing some level of concern and all.

it was the best thing that was actually interesting. Gotta love those weird moments.
I agree here, my mate did this. And carried my pups and dropped them for:
The eagle
Bob
A coyote
An elk? (Pretty sure elk do not eat meat but anyhow this was done)

But the best one is defiantly what you just said xD

Die (or disappear across the map). The best thing he ever did was die. My mate(s, in all my games this happens) carry the pups away, once he took them into the other wolves' territory and just dropped it there and left. Oh and another time, when I was away he just walked around on the opposite side of the map of the pups. Oh and like everyone else says, he thinks learning to swim is a must, in deep water, in front of a bear, while a bird is circling in. Ya the best he ever did was die.

From the many, many times I have played through WolfQuest, I can only think of maybe two mates that were truly smart and helpful in some way. My most recent one is one of the two. Basically, on the Final Journey, I would simply walk backwards and she would always grab and pup and bring it towards me. It was a long process, but eventually, they all made it safe and sound to the Rendezvous point. I can't quite remember what the other one did besides being an exceptional helper in hunting elk, when we both went to hunt.

I seem to have struck the Holy Grail of Intelligent 2.5 Mate Behavior this run. So far Balto's been killing hares that I've tried to bite but missed, but leaving the carcasses alone so Jade Wolf can eat them. He's also been finishing off wounded coyotes left and right. I've never had a WQ mate be so useful! I haven't had a chance to test him in an elk hunt yet, because last time I tried he glitched and froze in the middle of the hunting ground :/

Fingers crossed that he retains his usefulness in SC!

In 2.5, the best thing my mate has ever done for me was help me chase a bear away from it's carcass. In 2.7, though, that's been reduced to simple hunting and the occasional feeding of one pup.

My mate isn't very bright.... this one time i came back from the cattle ranch, and there he was, smiling and wagging his tail. THEN he remembered the pups.
I think the smartest thing he has done, was save the pups from a cyote when i was too far.
At least he feeds the pups
