WolfQuest Multiplayer Pet Peeves

Post by Croix » Tue Nov 08, 2011 10:48 am

What is a pet peeve?
  • A pet peeve (or pet hate as it is also called) is a minor annoyance that an individual identifies as particularly annoying to him or her, to a greater degree than others may find it.

I'm sure, if not positive, most of you have at least one pet peeve about WQ multiplayer, whether it's the people, antics, roleplays etc. Feel free to discuss, explain, or even mildly rant about them here. Links to screenshots are welcome as well, they give us all a good giggle. ;3

Note about screenshots - Please read!
If you are going to post a link to a screenshot and it has someone's username in it, please either make sure they are okay with you posting the screenshot or you edit the screenshot so the username is illegible. We don't need people getting offended! Thank you.

I just so happen have quite the list of things that annoy me on multiplayer. That shouldn't surprise some of you. ^^'
  • People that get as close as they can to your wolf's face to talk to you.
  • People that roleplay in a server that isn't made specifically for roleplay.
  • Being non-stop followed by strangers.
  • Being jumped on/pushed repeatedly for no apparent reason.
  • People constantly accusing you of being a rival pack spy (That is sort of funny as well lol).
  • Paranoid/Rude people.
  • Bowing repeatedly. The sound along with it is ear-piercing, in my opinion.
  • People that act like the entire roleplay/conversation revolves around them.
  • Descriptions stating that someone's wolf is either more beautiful/stronger/faster then everyone else's character. Putting themself on a pedestal basically.
  • Non-canine/human roleplays.

Please keep in mind that everyone will have their own opinions, sometimes completely different then yours and you may not agree with it. There is no need to make a negative comment towards them. ^^

:D
I could think of several things that are quite annoying for me;
  • Advertising your server in another server.
Attempting to make your own 'rules' for your chat and trying to make everyone follow them.
    Rude people.
    Breaking the MP rules.

^^ It'll be interesting to see more opinions~

;O I forgot about those. They annoy me as well.
I also thought of two more pet peeves...
  • People that think WolfQuest is specifically a roleplaying game.
  • People that think hunters are allowed/common in Yellowstone.

I have two...

[*]Human roleplays[/*]

[*]Demanding people to go away in an open game[/*]
Actually, I'm a dog. But wolves are cool too.
My MP is Andoria, of course.

Hehe I have a few myself. :3
  • People following you around.
Asking the same question over and over even after it has been answered.
People with multiple/same accounts in one server.

CROIX. I <3 you for posting this. <33 xD
  • Human role-plays
Long pack wars or crazy drama in role-play (black bloods or going to be a 'blood' wolf like black bloods, etc.)
    'Blood' packs
People with other accounts to avoid a ban from WolfQuest (I have dealed with one. They kept insulting me and some other people)
People who insult other people (my worst pet peeve)
People who keep bugging you to be their "meat" or mate.

And....

Hopefully this topic doesn’t start any quarrels :P .

The infinite role-play issues aside, I dislike people asking for my wolf’s gender as soon as I enter a server.

I have a few. Most of them have been caused by other players or accidents.
  • •Un-realistic roleplays
•People who think they are inmortal or mortal
•Un-realistic actions (Jumping into trees, teleporting, flying, ect.)
    •Non-canine roleplays/characters
•Pure white wolves with icy/crystal blue eyes
    •Pure black wolves
    •Blue eyed adult wolves
•Green, blue, purple, blood red, ect. eye colors
•People who think the plural form of wolf is wolfs (I think if your over ten and you grew up speaking proper english you should know this)
•Spelling mistakes such as saying allowed as aloud.
•People who use the word LOL, BRB, meh, ect. in every sentence
•Fighting in un-realistc ways. (Clawing eyes out, ripping throat/ears/head off.)
•The one-line kill. Such as, jumps on hare sinks giant teeth into killing,
•The whole "meat" busniss(?) I'm sick and tired of hearing the words "no meat" at the end of a description
I can go on forever listing these but I think most of them have been listed. Thank my old friends for causing most of the list...

Heres are a few:
~people trying to kill you as a roleplay
~any "blood" packs
~people telling you to leave an open chat
~people following you around try to be your meat/mate
~non-realistic rps
~human/non-wq related rps
~people trying to make you be their "pup"
~whale rps like: pokemonrp, humanteenrp, dragonrp
these are probably my biggest ones and husky rp is fun to me XD

I have had some bad experiences on Lexicon Chat. :( People have said that "Me hates that wolf" and that I had to leave their game unless I pretended to be a cat with them. Also, when two people were saying they were "meats," meaning mates, and I told them that that was not allowed, they said I was being mean. Here is a list of some of the pet peaves I have had since I joined:
Pretending to be other animals.
Telling me to leave.
People jumping over me. :?:
When I get in a game, the wolves in it don't move. They don't talk to me at all! :!:
When the little box that says "Sever Host Disconection" pops up or the "Conection Failure" pops up.
When wolves say no one can hunt other wise their computer will crash. Its not their fault, but it bugs me! :D
DON'T PM ME CAUSE I WON'T ANSWER.
Proud Leader of the Silver Moon Pack.
If want a pack, check out mine. We are awesome.

You can always report behavior like that, Namara. c:

Wow this is quote a list! I must say I could go on and on but I think my top two on the pet peeve list has got to be:

• It takes forever for me to finally join a game I can connect to and than I get sent away due to saving spots etc. I feel that this is totally unfair.. an open game is for everyone and if you want to play with only certain people than make a private chat. Although the only exception I make for this is if the game crashes and members are trying to rejoin.

• it also really irritates me when players (as said before) make the rp evolve around them.. the point if wolfquest is to learn and have fun but how do you do that with someone always having to either save the day or make a problem happen to them.

Guess I can add another..

• people who are rude to others and act "stubborn" when people ask them to please stop.

As I said.. I could go on and on but these are my true pet peeves. ^^

Hmm... I don't have too many, but my biggest ones would be:
• Someone joining an RP server without even reading the server name and asking a bunch of questions about what we're doing.
• Someone going AFK (Away from keyboard) without telling the other RP'ers, so the other players wait confusedly for the AFK player to keep RPing even though they won't for a while.
För allting börja nånstans när ja tappar balansen,
Woah,
Det klart det blir så när man dansar
nära kanten.
